The Warriors and South Warrnambool hosted a successful come-and-try night at Friendly Societies' Park on Tuesday, which attracted over 40 women.
Old Collegians president Jason Moloney said the turnout showed the club was ready for another expansion.
"We are committing to a open female side for 2020," he said.
"We (the club's committee) will sit down and work out where we go from here but we were happy with the turnout last night and all systems are go for a side in 2020."

Moloney said the club was already jumping into its next step - finding a coach.
"We are slowly getting everything on board and we are on the lookout for a dedicated coach and I am happy to have any inquiries come to myself," he said.
Moloney trained with the group on Tuesday and said there were plenty of new faces.
"It was really good and the wind was very south-west Victoria but the ladies were really enthusiastic and confident in their footy and it has put us in good stead going forward," he said.
"We had 40-45 people there and I think there were a mix of 15-20 new people, both open women and junior girls, which is encouraging this early in the season."
The Warriors and Roosters are planning to hold another night in the new year.
