Zac Whiting, 18, was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning and remains in the Kuta police station after he allegedly assaulted a Burger King security guard over a dispute about a stolen mobile phone.

9News reported that the "Sunshine Coast teen had beaten the victim twice using a clenched fist causing bouncer Adni Junus Liu to suffer a wound to his left temple".

In an image posted by 7News, Mr Whiting was wearing a Bloods Terang Mortlake Football Netball club singlet.

Bloods president Dave Roberts said Mr Whiting played two or three senior games during the 2019 football season and left between the end of August and early September.

He said the club in no way endorsed the alleged behaviour.

"We are dead against it," he told The Standard.

"It is something that we are simply not about. It is pure stupidity.

"It is disappointing from a club perspective because that sort of behaviour is not a reflection of our culture.

"I think it is going to be a long road home for him. We wish him all the best."

A police report published by 9News stated the victim was sitting in front of Burger King when "some foreigners" began arguing with a motorcycle taxi driver over a missing mobile phone.

"The victim told them not to make noise at his place of work," the police report said.

"They forced the victim to be responsible for losing the cellphone and one of them hit the victim."

Mr Whiting allegedly told police he was from the Northern Territory and more recently the Sunshine Coast.
