A Portland man, 53, has been remanded in custody after a dispute involving a shovel which result in a victim suffering an injury to his wrist and a damaged fence.

A Portland police spokesman said the man was arrested at lunchtime on Saturday, interviewed and charged with a number of offences including assault and breaching court orders.
He said investigations were continuing into other potential charges and the man had been remanded in custody to appear in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police will allege the man used a shovel to damage a fence and during that incident a victim suffered an injury to his wrist.
