A Warrnambool man has had his driver's licence suspended after he was caught behind the wheel at nearly three times the legal alcohol limit.

Sergeant Angela Fitzgerald, of Warrnambool police, said members of the public alerted police of the man's driving.
Police intercepted the 34-year-old driving a Mazda ute on Banyan Street at 12.15am on Saturday morning.
Sergeant Fitzgerald said he later recorded a 0.14 breath test, and police suspended his licence and impounded the vehicle.
The man was released released pending summons in relation to various driving offences.
"It's a reminder going into the festive season that police are out actively patrolling and targeting drink drivers," Sergeant Fitzgerald said.
