Caltex earlier this year closed the site, which had been a service station since at least the 1960s.
Caltex said it was demolishing the service station, on the corner of Raglan Parade and Kepler Street, to prepare it for sale.
But the company would not clarify if there were any potential buyers interested in the site.
Engineering consultant Adam Gray, an associate at WSP, said the major works were occurring this week, and would be completed in coming weeks.
He said the company was unaware of future plans for the site.
"We are pulling out the infrastructure that is at the site, as a result of that (Caltex) will have to make a call on where they go to next," Mr Gray said.
Another former Caltex service station site at 435 Raglan Parade was earmarked for a future medical centre earlier this year.
