Former AFL Western District regional general manager Rod Ward announced the review in August but has since departed the role.
The review was initially announced as a number of factors - player shortages, umpires shortages and weekly thumpings - were seen to be affecting the league.
We've put it on the shelf. We're fairly new to the role and we're really focused on serving our leagues.
- Matt Ross
AFL Western District operations and commercial manager Matt Ross said the region commission was focused on serving its leagues well.
"We've put it on the shelf. We're fairly new to the role and we're really focused on serving our leagues," he said.
"We want to deliver for our clubs and we're offering that with stability.
"There's been a bit going on and we'll wait until the dust settles a bit."
Mininera president John Box was contacted for comment.
