The pair put fear into bookmakers when Wilson was a leading jockey and Daffy put the polish on the horses but now they only have a small team in work and usually have a long hiatus over winter.
Daffy said it's always good to have a spell over the winter months.
"It gets a bit cold and wet and we're both getting older," Daffy told The Standard.
"I'll be 77 years-young within weeks and Nifty will be 73. We've only got the three horses in work and they will all run within the next fortnight."

Campo resumes in a benchmark 58 over 1100 metres for the stable at Warrnambool and Daffy hopes the lightly-raced five-year-old runs well.
"Campo has pretty good first up form," he said. "He's won the one race but has seven placings to his credit from 14 starts.
"He's always knocking on the door. He had a good spell and is in nice shape for his first up run."
Warrnambool Racing Club racecourse manager Daniel Lumsden said the running rail for the eight-race program would be out six metres for the entire track.
"We had five millimetres of rain on Wednesday night," Lumsden said.
"There's still a fair bit of rain forecast before the races start. It all depends how much rain we'll get in the lead up to the meeting but it should be a soft track for the meeting."
The first race is scheduled to start at 2.30 pm with the last set down to begin at 6.05pm.
