The event was held for the 19th time on Tuesday with a big crowd attending at The Star of the West Hotel in Port Fairy.
Lunch, raffles and sweeps were all part of an event that is set up as a fun day out and as a fundraiser for the palliative care at Moyne Health Services (MHS).
The day is in honour of the late Heather Holcombe, who lost her battle with cancer in 2000.
Ms Holcombe's niece, Emma Holcombe said this year's cup day had even more significance than normal.
"It would have been Heather's 59th birthday today," she said.
"The money raised from this day over the years has been used mainly on palliative care equipment but this year we used it to fund further training for staff."
MHS acting nurse unit manager Nadine Pritchard said representatives from St Vincents in Melbourne travelled to Port Fairy to provide training for 15 staff in Port Fairy.
