Dobson was the subject of an investigation after an incident in Koroit's record-breaking sixth-straight flag win over North Warrnambool Eagles.
Dobson is alleged to have made contact with the head of North Warrnambool Eagles' Sam McLachlan.
He will answer the charge of unbecoming conduct.
Dobson, who was formerly listed with Essendon and Geelong's VFL side, returned to Koroit alongside brother Sam in late 2018.
He was aligned to Geelong Football League club St Mary's while playing at Windy Hill.
AFL Western District confirmed Dobson was not offered a set penalty.
North Warrnambool Eagles initially asked for a probe into the incident.
Saints teammate Damian O'Connor was found guilty of unbecoming conduct for an alleged strike on former AFL star Michael Barlow in the same match.
He was slapped with a five-week ban last month but has retired from football.
