'Grow up'
What a debacle, the people running this city need to take a long hard look at themselves. To allow yourselves to be part of a dirty game, as you call it, says a lot about the character and integrity of the persons involved. Instead of seeing yourselves as divine and infallible, maybe just maybe you all need to be honest and above behaving like high school kids, bickering and trying to be the leader of the gang at any cost. Grow up and show some dignity and maturity that you are all lacking. Your positions are a gift not a right. Your egos have no place in city business.

Sad day
Tuesday, October 29 was the last day the Dennington factory made powered milk. A sad day. But the milk is not in the area to process due to prices. I ask have they found a new use for this factory? If not could the council draw a mayor out of the hat and get back to making Warrnambool a vibrant advanced place to work in.

Climate change debate
In response to Kiara Esh's welcomed letter The Standard 19/10 it is important that all can respectfully contribute, yes, all can cherry pick sources that suit an argument. What one cannot do is ignore the proven false claims and unfulfilled predictions given with time frames. As you stated it is up to us as individuals to seek informed decisions. All remember the picture of the sick polar bear, depicting that this species was nearing extinction through CO2 emissions. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature estimated in 1966 that there were 10,000 polar bears in the world; in 2006, they claimed that the population was 20,000-25,000. You rightly stated man's achievements in life expectancy, if allowed man's ingenuity will triumph without totally destroying economies. Unfortunately, governments acted on the proven untruthful Mann Hockey Stick and failed climate computer models. Geology records, that during past Ice Ages atmospheric CO2 was six times higher than present, Professor Plimer Australian eminent Geologist, other sources much higher. The Amazon is 1.359 billion acres and your claim that 40 per cent has been burnt (2,240,000 acres). Obvious Guardian misinformation. Validated science informs more atmospheric CO2 the greater the tree growth. History informs Europe was being denuded of trees until they started to use coal. The drivers of this alarmism support governance that eventually damages the environment. Hazelwood closed, 25 per cent of our power, soon Yallourn 22 per cent to close, no replacements. Renewables have proven to lead us into poverty, after 20 years they cannot survive without exorbitant subsidies. Facts are important.

Great little town
What a great little town is Lismore. My wife and I arrived in town 25 years ago and apart from a brief period of negativity the town has only looked up. The existing cafes and the two new cafes opened recently are receiving great support from the town and passing traffic while the other local shops are well supported by the locals as you would expect. Why is the town growing, with new houses being built as well? Because it's a great little town to live in and do business.
