SMASHING their personal bests will give Paul Mammone and Julie Galloway more satisfaction than winning Sunday's Static Monsters Worldwide event.
The Momentum Fitness Warrnambool strongperson members will compete in the competition, which will run in 60 gyms around the world at the same time.
The pair will complete three log lifts and three axle deadlifts as part of the competition with the aim of lifting the most amount of weight they can at the end of their attempts.
Mammone, 34, will compete in the under 80-kilogram class while Galloway, 51, is testing herself in the masters category.

The pair is full of confidence after some successful results at the Back to Ballarat strongperson event last weekend.
Galloway took out a bronze in the masters while Mammone secured the victory in the under 80kg class.
Mammone, who works as an IT manager with Gunners, said his goal this weekend was to again push himself to his limits.
"I'm hoping for a couple of personal bests and I'm feeling pretty good about it," he said.
Galloway, who works as a mental health nurse at South West Healthcare, said she was feeling positive heading into the weekend's event.
"I'm fairly confident I'll achieve what my maximum weight will be," she said.
"It's worldwide so there is some pretty good lifters out there. For instance in the lifting log, Australia recently beat the 100kg record with Lucia (Delle Noci)."
Galloway took up the sport 15 months ago and has been entering novice events such as Back to Ballarat last weekend.
Mammone's journey as a strongperson started at the beginning of this year with some clear objectives and he has not looked back since.
"I set a goal at the start of the year to compete in a strongman competition and I hit that in September in Melbourne, which was great," he said.
"I have loved every minute of it and it was the first time I have ever done strength training specifically as opposed to general gym stuff and it's really great to have a goal but also something that is functional.
"Strongman training isn't just about going to lift up a heavy bar in a particularly technical way, it's go grab that awkward object which is really hard to lift in terms of how heavy it is but is also awkward.
"It's not necessarily about holding a bar above your head it's maneuvering a big fat log into the right position to push it safely above your head and it's a lot more fun than your standard overhead deadlift type of workout."
Sunday's Static Monsters Worldwide event is expected to kick off at 10.30am at Momentum Fitness Warrnambool's gym.
