Senior Constable Paul Heywood, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said there was a break-in and officers were in the process of reviewing security camera footage.
"We're requesting any truck drivers in the Skipton district between 2am and 3am Thursday contact the Warrnambool police station," he said.
"We're after footage of other vehicles on the road at that time. Either on the Glenelg Highway or the surrounding arterial roads - including the Lismore-Skipton Road, the Rokewood- Skipton Road or the Skipton Road to Beaufort."
Senior Constable Heywood said two offenders attended at the supermarket and forced entry through a rear door.
"They have searched the premises and attempted to smash down a door to the supermarket office," he said.
"They were unsuccessful. In the process the offenders have triggered an alarm, but left before police arrived.
"They caused about $1500 worth of damage and we are in the process of reviewing the CCTV footage."
Anyone with information about the raid or who has dash camera footage has been requested to contact the Warrnambool police CIU on 5560 1153 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Senior Constable Heywood said a home in Camperdown's Bowen Street was also broken into on Wednesday.
He said during the day offenders broke into a home in Bowen Street, ransacked the house and stole prescription medication, perfume and cash value at $45.
