Officers released an image of Matthew Sailor yesterday saying he was wanted on warrants relating to breaching bail conditions and evading police on Friday in Portland
Detective Senior Constable Tim Chester said officers now believed Mr Sailor could assist with inquiries into a Holden Rodeo evading police in Portland's Blair Street at about 2.45pm on Monday.
He said Mr Sailor may also have information which could help them about the theft of a silver Isuzu ute from Amors Road in Cashmore, north-west of Portland, at about 4.30pm.
"Police also wish to speak to the passenger of the red Holden Rodeo involved in the evade. He is described as Caucasian with blonde hair and possibly wearing a fluro yellow work shirt," he said.
Anyone with information is requested to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Portland police station.
Earlier: Police are requesting public assistance to track down wanted 27-year-old Portland man Matthew Sailor.
Detective Senior Constable Tim Chester, of the Portland police crime investigation unit, said Mr Sailor was wanted on warrants on charges of contravening bail conditions and evading police on Friday in Portland.
"He is possibly driving a gold VT Holden Commodore bearing South Australian registration plates," he said.
"Mr Sailor is described as being Koori in appearance, 170 cms tall and 100kg. He has short brown hair and brown eyes.
"He is known to frequent the Heywood, Portland or Mount Gambier areas."
Detective Senior Constable Chester said anyone with information could anonymously reported to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Portland police station.
