Open coach Raewyn Poumako has re-signed with the Blues for a third season.

Blues netball president Jason Thwaites said the Hampden league club was thrilled to have the experienced mentor onboard for another season.

"No doubt having a team of players and a coach for a period of time helps development and leads to success," he said.

"Raewyn has attracted key players and other coaches to the club and we've continued to develop.

"In 2018 we had two of 10 netball sides play finals and this year we had five including one in a grand final and one in a preliminary final, so our growth has been great and next year hopefully we'll bring home the main prize."

Thwaites said Poumako was a strong leader who had moulded the Blues into a force during her time at the helm.

"We are pretty excited to have her back," he said.

Poumako was named Hampden open netball co-coach of the year alongside Cobden's Mel Starr.

Warrnambool bowed out of this season's premiership race after losing to the Bombers in the preliminary final.
