Wet weather didn't deter a hearty band of competitors turning out for a round of YMCA's Australian Skate Park League at the Koroit skate park last Sunday.
As well as action on the skate surface, silver banksias were planted in the park's surrounds in Bourke Avenue, near the Koroit Railway Station.
The competition doubled as an opening of the Koroit Youth Space area, which includes the skate park and a multi-use half-court which can host basketball and netball.
Moyne Shire Council mayor Mick Wolfe spoke at the event, praising the impact of the youth space.
"The works and improvements were initially identified in the Koroit Youth Space Landscape Design, and the end result is a fantastic facility," Cr Wolfe said.

HAPPY: Lainie Robertson, 9, and Kobe Robertson, 4.

FUN: Harry Bourke, 9, and Jack Bourke, 6, were happy to have a day out at the Koroit skate park on Sunday.
