Detective Acting Sergeant Wayne Ryan, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said the offence happened in the early hours of Friday morning and was reported later in the day.
He said that between midnight and 4am it's believed an offender has entered through the window of an unoccupied front bedroom, gone into the lounge room of the unit and taken the keys to the vehicle.

The car is valued at about $5000.
"We are requesting any witnesses who saw anyone suspicious in that area early Friday morning contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Warrnambool police station," Detective Acting Sergeant Ryan said.
