Bowman earmarked the Rupert Clarke for Begood Toya Mother after the lightly-raced five-year-old won a restricted race at Sandown in April.

"The Rupert Clarke had been on the agenda since April," the popular trainer told The Standard.
"It's a wonderful result when a plan comes to fruition.
"We've known all along the horse had the ability.
"We just had to get him to the races in peak fit condition and we did that through the hard work of all our staff.
"It was a sensational ride by Declan.
"He summed up the race perfectly.
"It was a 10-out-of-10 ride by Declan - no one could have rode the horse any better.
"He's a very underrated jockey.
"Begood Toya Mother will be spelled now.
"We'll look at group one races like the Orr and the Futurity in the autumn in Melbourne before possibly going to Queensland for some group races."
Bates, who moved to Warrnambool from Ireland four years ago, played down his role in the victory.
"He's a very good horse," Bates said.
"I'm just so appreciative Daniel, his wife Denita and the owners have given me the chance to ride Begood Toya Mother in the group one race.
"I was quietly confident a long way out we would be hard to beat in the end he won the race quite easily.
"It's a big thrill for all concerned to win a group one race.
"It's a reward for all the hard work that Daniel, Denita and their staff put into their horses."
Bowman purchased Begood Toya Mother for $28,000 as a yearling.
The son of Myboycharlie has won eight of his 13 starts and picked up more than $599,000 in stakemoney for his owners who include many from Warrnambool.
