Smooth Groove Disco Royal is spinning the tunes at Warrnambool's Royal Hotel on Saturday night, and raising money for Melbourne homeless enterprise HoMie in the process.
Event organiser and DJ Max Deboo said he had been playing shows around Warrnambool over the past year, and was hoping the Smooth Groove event will become a major fundraiser for the homelessness charity.
"Warrnambool is a good place to start," Deboo said.
"We wanted a tight community crew to help run this first show and there is a good base here, we can get DJs who are local, and the Royal is an awesome venue."
"We hope to build the event up to put some good money back into the homeless system."
Four DJs will play funk and disco tunes to keep people dancing, and the Royal Hotel will be decorated with a street vibe and 70's era lighting.
"We want this to be an event anyone of any age can come and enjoy, anyone who wants to support a good cause can come and have a fun night," Deboo said.
All profits from will be donated to HoMie, a shop in Fitzroy which supports homeless youth with clothing and work in the fashion industry.
Smooth Groove Disco Royal will bring the funk to the Royal Hotel from 8pm on Saturday, with tickets available at the door.
