Ms Emonson was joined by her sister, Jenny Stone, formerly of Port Fairy and now living in Bendigo, in tackling the 21km half-marathon as part of the Sydney Harbour Bridge run.
Both achieved personal bests, completing the distance in just over two hours.
Ms Emonson's daughter Justine Brown took part in the 10km run.
The trio, which was known as Team Bernice, raised $700 for dementia research and support.
They were among 50,000 people to take part in the event.
Ms Emonson praised the organisers of the event.
"It was a very early start, commencing from 6am, but given the day's temperature peaked at 29 degrees, that was probably a good thing," Ms Emonson said.
"The run was a wonderful experience and we are grateful to the many local people for sponsoring us."
