Fresh from his United Kingdom, European, Australian and New Zealand tours, and his appearance alongside Meg Mac at Triple J's One Night Stand in Lucindale, the Warrnambool born-and-bred singer and songwriter is releasing his newest song Blue Mood Rising.

Co-written by British artist George Taylor the song reflects the pressures Didirri has felt in his career and his mantra to remain true to his roots.

"Everyone knows what they go through to do something honestly," Didirri said.

"In whatever your pursuit is, you know what feels authentically you and what feels like you're doing it for other people.

"We wrote the song knowing we have other things enclosing on our space and the feeling of getting disappointed on other people's thoughts and feelings of you."

The track's heartbeat comes from the deep strum of the guitar while the layering of instruments give more bounce than we're used to hearing from Didirri.

Though enjoying the direction his music is taking him, Didirri is the first to admit that sometimes the pressure resonates too strongly for him.

"I have a pretty thick skin but whether I like it or not, someone could say something and it goes into my brain and I wish it went out the other ear sometimes but it stalls inside my head," he said.

"It's often people who are trying to say particularly lovely things like 'keep doing what you're doing' and they don't realise by saying that, it's a pressure in itself to make sure you don't change.

"I have to keep my feet on the ground and realise making music is a form of expression and I give it to other people and say I hope this helps, I hope this helps you experience something, I hope this helps you think about something or I hope this helps you connect with something.

"The first seed of whatever tree grows from your creation belongs to you.

"I wrote this basically saying that if this goes the wrong way I can feel this as a bad seed and it was my thoughts rising at that time. Then I can put my feet back on the ground and make the next chapter of my life knowing I needed to express myself in that way."

The 23-year-old first broke into the Australian music scene in 2017 and the past two years have seen him climb the ranks and take to the stage alongside some of Australia's most popular artists from Vance Joy, Hilltop Hoods, Tash Sultana, The Temper Trap and his personal idol Jordie Lane.

Warrnambool College's director of music Erin Toulmin was an early influence on Didirri's life and said Didirri had enormous talent in many facets of music.

"From the minute he stepped into Warrnambool College until he left, he was just the type of student who would throw himself into anything and any opportunity," Ms Toulmin said.

"He came with a background of performing and before he got into music he was wowing us with his circus skills. He had always been learning piano but early on he decided to pick up the clarinet and he also had a little dabble on trumpet.

"If he ever had a free period he was always in the music department and would make us cry with his natural ability to move people with his music.

"I'm not surprised he's done so well. He's a great communicator, storyteller and a very warming, gentle personality which fits in with his niche market.

"He's a real wordsmith but what I really love is that he's still humble to his roots and never forgotten where he's come from. I don't think he's the type of person to ever let fame to get to his head."

Didirri has a full schedule ahead of him for 2019. He will play Riverstage in Brisbane with City & Colour for Bris Fest before taking to the stage at This x That Festival in Newcastle. Didirri will return to the south-west to headline Loch Hart Music Festival in Princetown and join Middle Kids on their national album tour at the end of November.
