Rea, who won by one vote, took out the Rebekah Moroney Medal as the Hampden league's 17 and under netball best and fairest.

The 17-year-old midcourter received 29 votes ahead of Hamilton Kangaroos' Madeline Casey who polled 28.

"I'm so excited and honoured to accept this award, it's amazing," Rea said.

The teenager admitted she was nervous towards the end of the count.

"She (Casey) was always going to do well so I was a bit nervous, but one vote, I'll take it if I can," she said.

Rea, whose team beat the Kangaroos on Saturday, has a grand final coming up against Koroit at Reid Oval.

The Saints beat the Roosters by two goals in the second semi-final to progress to the decider.

Rea said her side was keen to turn-the-tables against the Saints in the big game.

"They came out firing in that final, they really caught us off guard and played amazing," she said.

"Hopefully this week we can come back and hopefully win."

Rea also played for the Roosters in the open division this season.

"I've been lucky enough to have had quite a big opportunity in the open," she said.

She thanked her parents, coaches and the club.
