Clinton Baulch Motor Group customers received notification that the Raglan Parade dealership would no longer offer warranty repairs on the Fiat Chrysler brands when it ended ties with the franchise in June.

While the dealership has parted ways with the brands, it continues to offer services for the car types and stock Isuzu utility vehicles.

Dealer principal Clinton Baulch said the Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge brands had not been profitable and the decision was "just a financial business decision".

"We have tried to hold on with them," Mr Baulch said.

"Most people understand we have to do what's right for the company and the people who work for us."

The business brought the brands to Warrnambool in 2012 at the west Warrnambool site.

Mr Baulch said the group now employed about 70 people, including workers at its Nissan-Kia dealership, and Renault, Mazada and Subaru dealerships in the city's east.

"We started employing 15 people when we took over 13 years ago," he said.

"The great news is we didn't have to let anyone go. If we don't make these decisions that's when staff do lose jobs.

"Our profitability is not affected by losing Jeep, Chrysler and Dodge."

The closest dealerships stocking the car brands are now located in Geelong, Ballarat and Mount Gambier.

Mr Baulch said the dealership had found Isuzu to be a fast-growing and most profitable brand at the yard in the past three years. He said he now considering options to stock other brands.

"We just want to make sure that it's the right brand," Mr Baulch said.
