A love of teamwork led Warrnambool's Andrew Atkinson to pursue a career as a police officer.
He enjoyed being a member of the city's surf lifesaving club and decided to apply for a spot at the police academy.
In the final episode of our podcast Copper Files, Mr Atkinson talks about his time at the academy and his stints at stations in south-west Victoria.
Mr Atkinson also talks about the issue of PTSD in the force and what led to his decision to retire and pen the book Copper! A Life in Law Enforcement.
You can buy a copy of the book at Collin's Booksellers in Warrnambool.
