The footy-mad muscular dystrophy advocate, who is currently in hospital with a lung infection, will be in the minds of the Rebels players as they fight for a finals berth against the Jets.
Seven Warrnambool players of the nine from the south-west region will play in the encounter.
Jay Rantall, Liam and Marcus Herbert, Josh Dwyer, Mitch Burgess, Emmanuel Ajang, Toby Mahony, Fraser Marris and James Cleaver were all the south-west exports named in the Rebels' team on Thursday night.
Dwyer, a Port Fairy export, is one of two inclusions for the Marc Greig-led side.
The Rebels have had a impressive second half of the season, winning four out of their last five games.
The last times the two teams played was in Round 11 where the Rebels were narrowly defeated by seven points.
