August 21. Yarding: 70. Change: down 7.
Another small penning of cattle were yarded for the core field of buyers with 70 penned, 7 head less than last week. Quality was plain to good, with most in lean condition. Competition was best for cows with prices from 20c to 30c/kg higher, with heavy weight bulls selling on a similar dearer trend. The yarding comprised of 11 grown heifers, 14 young cattle, 41 cows and 4 bulls. The single B muscled and C muscled steer vealers sold for 318c and 300c/kg respectively. The trade paid 285c for the odd C2 yearlings, with D muscled 1 and 2 score yearlings making from 200c to 275c/kg. C2 grown heifers sold for 260c, with the D1 grades making 210c and 220c/kg.
