Moyston-Willaura goal umpire Barcley Vincent pleaded guilty to a misconduct charge from Saturday's Mininera and District Football League final round under 16.5 match against Hawkesdale-Macarthur.
He told an AFL Western District tribunal hearing in Warrnambool on Wednesday night that he had apologised for pushing the teenager, who he thought was about to enter a "pretty significant remonstration" at half-time.
"It was pretty ugly to say the least," he said.
Vincent said he was emotional at the time.
"I don't like to see that level of niggle," he said.
Mininera league prosecutor John Graham told the hearing that if a player did the same to an umpire, the penalty would be severe.
"It's deplorable that this occurred to a junior player," he said.
Vincent was banned from attending any Moyston-Willaura matches until the end of the 2020 season.
The club would also be hit with a $500 fine.
In a separate hearing, Lismore-Derrinallum full-forward Riley Browne was handed a four-match ban for striking.
But two of the matches were suspended until the end of the 2022 season.
It means his season is not over with the club finishing second on the ladder.
Browne pleaded guilty to striking Penshurst's Jason McIntosh during the second term of Saturday's match.
