There was a core, winter time field of buyers present for the slightly increased sized yarding of 484 plain to average quality cattle, 50 more.

Demand was steady but prices were 20c to 30c higher for poor to plain quality cows and equal to 10c/kg better for the good quality. All other categories of cattle sold fully equal to dearer.

The yarding comprised of 11 grown steers, 93 young cattle and grown heifers, 370 cows and 10 bulls.

The small penning of young cattle were mainly heifers and most yearlings were in 1 and 2 score condition. The C muscled 2 and 3 score yearlings sold from 250c to 285c with restockers paying 265c to 280c/kg. The D muscle 1 and 2 scores were from 220c to 250c/kg.

The handful of C muscled grown steers made 280c and 310c with the D2 manufacturing grade at 260c and 264c/kg.

A good number of grown heifers met with keen enquiry to see the C3s make 282c to 300c and the D2 grade sell at 240c to 250c/kg.

Heavy weight 3 and 4 score beef cows sold from 250c to 285c with the D2 grade from 236c to 260c/kg.

The D1 cows were between 225c and 239c and most E1s sold from 130c to 220c/kg. The better shaped heavy weight beef bulls were from 250c to 290c/kg.
