Koroit police Sergeant Pat Day said the bike and its owner had now been reunited.
"He has collected it. The bike had been stolen from Koroit St Pats school bike shed overnight on Monday last week and hadn't been reported to police," he said.
Earlier this week: A 15-year-old male youth has been charged and bailed to appear at a children's court in relation to shop theft, theft of a bicycle, criminal damage and assaulting police after he was arrested in Port Fairy late last week.
Koroit police Sergeant Pat Day said the youth was found in possession of a black mountain bike.
"It's in good condition and has been stolen from someone," he said.
"We believe it was stolen in the Koroit or Port fairy area sometime last week, before Thursday. We're trying to trace the owner .
"Anyone who can help is asked make contact with the Koroit Police station on 5565 8202 ."
Koroit police are also seeking information in relation to a stolen trailer that was taken between Wednesday a fortnight ago and Wednesday last week.
"The trailer was taken from a Commercial Road address, hooked on and towed away , it's a grey tandem box trailer," Sergeant Day said.
"Trailers, caravans and boats need to be secured. They are easy prey for an opportunistic thief and can be hooked on and towed away in minutes.
"There are a lot of products on the market to secure the coupling so they can't be towed and parking them behind a locked gate or in a shed is best," he said.
