Cadet Corporal (CCPL) Nicholas Egan, 16, said the Australian Air Force Cadet (AAFC) unit was a great place for him to learn about the aviation industry.
"I am hoping to take my first solo flight soon," CCPL Egan said.
CCPL Egan said restoring a Soviet-era glider was one of his favourite activities at the squadron.
"We also get the chance to use a flight simulator and fly drones," he said.
CCPL Georgia Hand, 17, she was interested in marching when started with the cadets.
"My friend was in cadets and he told me about the classes, it sounded fun," CCPL Hand said.
CCPL Hand said activities this Thursday night would include fieldcraft, aviation, self defence and drill.
The 413 Squadron recruitment night is August 22 from at 6:30pm at the Pertobe Road barracks.
