Detective Sergeant Jason von Tunk, of the Portland police crime investigation unit, said the analysis of forensic evidence identified a person of interest about noon on Monday.
He said that led to a search warrant being executed at a Peter Street address in Portland about 3pm by detectives and uniform officers.
At the property they found a range of believed to be stolen items including a signed Peter Brock poster, mobile phones, computers and GPS navigation units among about 30 items.
"About the same time we received information the person of interest was at the Portland trawler wharf and we were able to make a quick arrest," Detective Sergeant von Tunk said.
"The man was arrested, interviewed and charged with one count of aggravated burglary which we allege was committed while there was a person present in a home."
The CIU chief said in addition to the burglaries and thefts, the man was expected to be charged with going equipped to steal and drug offences.

The detective Sergeant said it would be alleged the burglaries were committed on both home and commercial premises.
"The man is known to police and information just fell into place yesterday which led to his arrest," Detective Sergeant von Tunk said.
"We've recovered items which have not even been reported stolen. It will be alleged the man stalked buildings at night and then forced entry to those premises.
"It's a bit of a clean-up for us. We're very happy with the result which can be put down to the persistent efforts and hard work of the police members involved," he said.
The man appeared in Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody until October 15.
He told the court he needed medical assistance as he was "withdrawing really bad from drugs".
It's understood the man has been committing crimes to feed his drug habit.
He is expected to be charged with the further offences at a later date.
