Belinda Unmack, 33, got hooked on ice after she started taking it with her boyfriend at the time.

"We started on marijuana and moved on to ice," Ms Unmack said.

"People don't realise how easy it is to get hooked - one hit and you're hooked."

Ms Unmack said her relationship was toxic and she used the drugs as a crutch.

She said she wanted to give up on a number of occasions, but said it was incredibly difficult.

"When you're high it's an amazing feeling - but what goes up must come down," Ms Unmack said.

The Warrnambool resident said the couple spent the majority of their money on drugs.

Ms Unmack said the insidious drug took over her life.

"I lost a lot of weight. You don't sleep - you can't sleep and you can't eat," she said.

"When you're coming down it's horrible."

Ms Unmack said she would continually grind her teeth and was now missing a number of teeth.

She is pleased The Lookout has been approved and believes it will save lives.

Ms Unmack said she no longer had access to drugs when she left the relationship with her partner who had been supplying them.

She was able to get clean, but had a relapse while attending an outpatient program.

"I lapsed because I met other people there that were doing it," Ms Unmack said.

"You're there Monday to Friday and then you're left on your own on the weekend."

Ms Unmack said she had been clean since 2016 and wanted to be a good role model to her two young children.

She said people should avoid the temptation of drugs, particularly ice.

"The epidemic is really bad," she said.

"Don't try it - not even once."

Ms Unmack said she never turned to crime while on drugs, but she did let a number of family members down.

"I lied about a lot of things," she said.

"I borrowed money and never gave it back."
