Warrnambool College year 10 students Zahli Adams and Belle Baker are thriving in the Saints' mid-court.
Adams played at wing defence and Baker at wing attack in Koroit's 40-28 win against Port Fairy at Victoria Park on Saturday.
The Saints, who sit in second spot with one Hampden league round to play, hope the teenage double act can play a role in September.
Adams said she was happy playing alongside her mate.
"She is really athletic and fit and we we're good mates and we really trust each other to let the ball go," she said.
Adams said the support of the Saints' older tier and the advice from coach Stacey O'Sullivan had helped her settle in after crossing from the Seagulls in the off-season.
"Stacey as a coach really explains it well and helps you to learn," she said.
The Hampden representative said the Saints' performance against the Seagulls was far from perfect.
But she was pleased with their application.
"What we really worked on at training, we really put into the game," she said.
"There was some rough bits but we can work on that at training.
"I think just steadying when we get a turnover and really thinking about catching the ball and thinking about what we need to do afterwards."
O'Sullivan said Koroit controlled the play "in finals kind of weather" but struggled with its shooting in at-times gusty conditions.
"I thought our defence all over the court was great," she said.
"We had the ball 70 per cent of the time but we didn't make it count.
"The second half wasn't too bad and there's definitely things we're working on and as long as the structures are there and we're using them (that's good)."
