He kicked 10.1 last time he played Hamilton Kangaroos - the Blues' opponent at Reid Oval on Saturday.
Kangaroos coach Matt Dunn said stopping Ewing was a whole-team effort.
"We have to curb his influence," he said.
"It will be a focus for us but they have plenty of other good players to focus on too."
Dunn said the predicted wet weather wouldn't negate Ewing.
"He's fairly adaptable to conditions," he said.
"Even though it was not cold (in Northern Territory) when he played up there, he played in wet conditions."

Ewing has averaged six goals a game in 2019.
He's kicked a goal in each of his 15 matches and has kicked multiple goals on 14 occasions.
Three teams - the Kangaroos, Portland and Cobden (twice) - have been on the receiving end of Ewing 10-plus goal hauls.
Hamilton Kangaroos, who are yet to play finals since joining the competition in 2013, sit outside the top-five on percentage with three rounds to play.
