Numbers reduced again from last week for a typical winter yarding of plain quality. The bulk of the yarding was made up of cows and dairy types. All the regular field of buyers were present but not operating fully in a fluctuating market. Trade cattle suiting the domestic processors were scarce, with the better types selling from 276c to 340c/kg. Feeder prices eased this week, with the C muscle types making from 258c to 270c/kg. The quality of grown steers and bullock was limited, with the larger portion being dairy types. C3 grown steers improved by up to 20c, selling from 288c to 307c/kg. Bidding was stronger in the manufacturing category, with heavy manufacturing types increasing by 2c/kg. Dairy bullocks sold from 266c to 278c/kg. Cows were well supplied, however good quality was scarce.
