The Tigers wing attack is relishing playing under good friend and first-year Merrivale coach Carly Peake and believes the second-placed side can make an impact in the finals.
But Wright, 22, is wary of the Tigers' next opponent - top-placed Nirranda.
"After the Dennington game we felt quite comfortable but South Rovers played amazing (in our draw) last weekend," she said.
"From the South Rovers game we took away we can fight back.
"I reckon we can definitely make the grand final and then it's whatever happens on the day.
"We have ability. It is about determination and putting in effort."

Wright played juniors for Merrivale before joining South Warrnambool's 17 and under team.
She then spent time at fellow Hampden league club Warrnambool in its open grade side before moving to Queensland last year.
Wright, the younger sister of south-west boxer Jyl, said she was happy at Tigerland.
"I am happy to stay there. I've made some good friends," she said.
"I probably will stick around at Merrivale next year."
Wright said the Warrnambool and District league suited her as she was busy with her new job at the Warrnambool urology department which has recently moved from South West Cancer Care Centre to St John of God Hospital.
