SPOTTED: Former high-profile detective Charlie Bezzina was in Port Fairy last week. Sources say the knockabout former cop, who is often seen on TV news reports when there is criminal trouble, enjoyed the sights of the village before heading back to Melbourne.
LOSER: Local bus driver Simeon Balmer who barracks for Hawthorn won a bet over passionate Geelong fan Craig Hood last Sunday. The flies said the well-known Port Fairy café owner was left red-faced after he had to wear a Hawthorn jumper when fronting customers on Monday.
AMAZING: Must acknowledge the hard-working Port Fairy Winter Weekends committee for all the hard work they put in to make this year's event such a success. The committee had to contend with cold and wet weather conditions but they came up trumps each time.
