Alsop, who will play his 150th match, said friendships had been a key part of his career to date.
"It's a real good family club, I've got a lot of close mates," he said.
"A lot of close mates I went to school with."
The milestone man, who played all his juniors with the Dees, attended Timboon P-12.

The Warrnambool-based electrician will be important when the eighth-ranked Demons face the sixth-placed Bulldogs at Panmure Recreation Reserve.
The Bulldogs desperately need the points to stay in the finals race while the Demons are after their fifth victory.
Alsop is red and blue all the way through.
"I've always wanted to play all my career at the Demons and it's good to finally get here," he said.
The 26-year-old has been in great form this season with nine mentions in his team's best from 12 matches.
Alsop said he felt the club was in a good position with some promising youngsters rising through the ranks.
The defender, who is eager to get to 200 games, said playing finals was the highlight of his career.
Kolora-Noorat beat the Dees by 14 points in last year's semi-final.
Alsop said he was looking forward to his team getting back in the finals mix soon.
