A police spokeswoman said the collision occurred on the Maroona-Glenthompson Road just after 2pm on Wednesday.
"A truck carrying a large wind turbine blade has come too close to a power pole, causing damage to the power pole," she said.
"The collision has made it unsafe for vehicle traffic on the Maroona-Glenthompson Road so that is closed until the power pole can be repaired.
"Powercor is on the scene."
Powercor's website said 173 customers were without power in Glenthompson and Narrapumelap South.
Power is expected to be restored by 8pm Wednesday.
A similar incident occurred in Hamilton earlier this year when the blade of a wind turbine being transported on a wide load collided with a power pole in March.
There was no disruption to local electricity supply on that day.
