The Saints, who would eventually go on to defeat the Roosters 7.6 (48) to 3.7 (25), lost Pulling in the early stages of the match after he fainted following a knock.
"He copped one and sort of fainted," coach Chris McLaren said of the 21-year-old's strange injury.
"I think copped one in the back of the head. We are not sure (of how it happened) and we will look at the vision.
"It jolted his neck in the top of his back so he got winded and fainted because of lack of wind from the hit. It really stunned him."
McLaren said the club would monitor Pulling during the week before deciding whether to play him in the crunch game against Warrnambool next weekend.

Blair's rotten injury luck continued when he dislocated his left shoulder diving for a loose ball deep in the Saints' forward line during the third term of the Roosters' fifth-straight defeat.
"It's really disappointing for Jock as he has been playing really, really well recently," Roosters coach Mat Battistello said after the game.
"Not sure if it is good or bad news but it was the opposite shoulder (than his previous shoulder injury).
"We have had the doc look at him and it has gone back in and we are hopeful but can't really say more than that."
Battistello expected Blair to miss next week's game against Portland. Apart from the two injuries both sides got through unscathed.
But the warning bells are not ringing just yet despite his side's fifth-straight loss. Battistello's men have now lost matches to the Saints (23 points), Hamilton Kangaroos (eight), Port Fairy (16), North Warrnambool Eagles (seven) and Warrnambool (seven).
The first-year Rooster said his side, which is sitting in fifth place only a game ahead the six-placed Kangaroos, would need to find answers to return to make a return to the winner's list.
"If you look at the win-loss you would have said 'yeah that (the warning bells are going off) is the case'," he said.
"But if you drill down from my perspective we've lost by four goals to the top side for the past six years, we've lost to North (first) and Warrnambool (second) by seven points.
"If a couple of those went our way with continuity of players and being able to keep them on the park you go it's not so bad, but the reality of it is that's five losses and we have to find a way to get better."
The Roosters had seven changes at the selection table last Thursday night and this week they are expected to have a few more.
The injury to Jock Blair and the Rebels contingent - including Fraser Marris and Marcus Herbert, who played on Saturday - returning to NAB League duties will force changes again at selection.
South Warrnambool's next three games are against Portland, Cobden and Terang Mortlake before a tough run home against Camperdown, Warrnambool and North Warrnambool Eagles.

McLaren said he saw a number of pleasing aspects from his side's gritty win ahead of a tough match against Warrnambool next weekend.
"South Warrnambool tried to get under our skin and put us off our game and it turned into a physical contest," he said.
"But I thought our boys put their head down and concentrated on their role and did what we needed to do and controlled the game for most of it."
The Saints will get a number of reinforcements back for a finals-like test against the Blues at Reid Oval.
"Rhys Raymond is getting close, Damian O'Connor will be available, Jayden Watson was outstanding in the reserves in his second game," he said.
"Sam Dobson will be back from Vic Country so we'll have a couple more potential changes again.
"Lachie Cairns played in the reserves and they got the worst of the weather it was wet and slippery but he did some nice things and he looks like he'll be a really good find for us."
