Recreational fishermen Scott Phillips and Darren McDonald might struggle to find somewhere to wet a line this October when they take a week-long drive through the outback.

The south-west pair have joined forces as the Tangled Rods to take on the Shitbox Rally, a 3600km trip from Melbourne to Townsville, via Birdsville, in a car worth less than $1000.
Mr Phillips said the team name came from a workmate after an unsuccessful fishing trip.
"We never catch any fish so he said 'I know what you do, you tangle your rods'," Mr Phillips said.
"It was fitting because you have to support your mates, your families and anyone with cancer. It's a big support network.
"Everyone has been affected by cancer either directly or indirectly so this is a good way to give something back."
The rally, which is run to support the Cancer Council, is designed as a fun and supportive event rather than a race, Mr Phillips said.
"It's not super serious," he said
"You get to dress up, dress your car up and get some awareness out there for the Cancer Council."
The team is working to raise $5000 as a donation to the Cancer Council with a sausage sizzle outside Woolworths on July 20, and as the charity of the month from the Seanchai trivia nights.
One of the biggest gifts the Tangled Rods have received is their rally car, dubbed the 'Mighty' AU Falcon.
"It's a bit strange, we are both Holden men and we are driving a Ford," Mr Phillips said.
"We have also had local businesses donate money and parts for the car.
"It is going to be a great experience.
"We have spoken to a few people who have been on these rallies before, getting tips and advice.
"They told us to pack light and install a bash plate under the car for the rough roads."
