Merrivale has opted to rest Tate Porter ahead of its bye next week in a bid to give the emerging star time to recover from general soreness and freshen up for the business end of the season.

Tigers coach Jason Rowan said Porter would return for his side's round 16 clash with South Rovers, with versatile tall Jack Grace coming in to face Dennington.
"He's a huge loss - a young kid who's got a lot of talent and potential," Rowan said.
"He's fitted in really well coming back across mid-season, but we've got lots of depth this year, so we've definitely got avenues to cover him this week."
Meanwhile, Dogs coach Mick Phillips said forward Jesse Lewis returns from a broken foot to play his 150th game for Dennington and pick up a life membership.
"These milestones are always something to look forward to, especially since his family is strongly linked to the club," Phillips said.
Ruckman Jack Honan also comes in to play his first senior game for the Dogs, with Jack McCutcheon (elbow) and Tom Noonan (unavailable) making way.
Playing-coach Ben Walsh (soreness) headlines a string of outs for Kolora-Noorat, joined by Tyler Beasley, Ed Lee, Charlie Scanlon, Ned Payne and Rob McInnes.
Despite the loss of Walsh, the Power will enjoy an injection of experience with Jason Moloney, Scott Judd, Ben Fraser, Brad Johnson, Nick Hoare and George O'Sullivan all returning from injury to face South Rovers.
"The Lions look like they're in good form and I think Mark Murphy might give us a few headaches," Walsh said.
Allansford has lost defender Travis Membrey to concussion, along with Patrick Higgins (tonsillitis) and Matt Lenehan (cork) but regained Allan Noone, Kye Bunworth and Brent Fedley
"It's really touch and go with the head," Cats assistant coach Robbie Hare said of Membrey.
"But the more we look after him the better."
Allansford's opponent, Russells Creek, has made eight changes to its side.
But Creekers coach Peter Timms said he was excited to see Caleb Templeton, Joe Kenna and Ryan McElgunn back on the park.

"We're really confident we put in a good effort with those guys coming in," he said.
"Our young group took plenty out of the Merrivale game last week - we've just got to be cleaner with the footy.
"I think we're pretty good at holding possession...but once we turn the ball over we get hurt badly the other way."
Panmure has made two changes to the side that upset Kolora-Noorat last week, with midfielder Tom White and defender Brad Cook coming in for Kallan Melican (suspension) and Tom Wright (back) to face East Warrnambool.
Old Collegians coach Nick Sheehan said he looked forward to having more grunt in his side Aaron Williams, Josh Reichman and Jacob Malone coming in for Dan Weel (hamstring), Justin Lynch (unavailable) and Pat Keane.
"Those are some big bodies there and Williams will give us a good target up forward," he said.
