Peter Downs resigned from the high-profile job last week after he was appointed Moonee Racing Club general manager for racing.
The advertisement reads in part: "This highly sought-after role is responsible for professionally, effectively and efficiently managing the club's business activities, including stakeholder relationship management and maximising revenue returns through the profitable conduct of racing and non-racing events and operations".
The Warrnambool Racing Club hosts 19 race meetings a year including its famed three-day May Racing Carnival.
It will operate a significantly enhanced entertainment and function centre from April next year.
Applications close for the job on August 4.
