UPDATE, noon: Residents of two Hamilton homes have been left shaken after disturbing an offender early on Tuesday morning.

Detective Senior Constable Roger McClure, of the Hamilton police crime investigation unit, that early Tuesday an offender entered two homes in Hensley Park Road between 2am and 2.15am.
"The offender has walked in, been disturbed in both houses and then fled straight away," he said.
"In one house there was a woman and a young child. She was a bit concerned someone was in her home.
"In the other house the bloke chased the offender down the drive. When disturbed the offender ran off."
Detective Senior Constable McClure said the intruder had also disturbed items in two vehicles.
Nothing has been reported stolen, but the experienced investigator said the offending was worrying.
"In addition to walking into the homes, he's also got into two unlocked cars and there were items disturbed in those vehicles," he said.
"At this stage we have only limited information to go on so we're requesting anyone who knows anything contact the Hamilton police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," he said.
Earlier: Hamilton police are calling for information from the public after attempted break-ins at two houses and two vehicles early this morning.
Hamilton police Acting Sergeant Shaun McCulloch said that early Tuesday an offender attempted to enter two homes in Hensley Park Road between 2am and 2.15am
"They have also tried to get into two vehicles," he said.
"At this stage there has been nothing reported stolen.
"Investigations are continuing and we would request any witnesses or anyone with information contact the Hamilton police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," he said.
