A Country Fire Authority investigator and Warrnambool police crime investigation unit detective examined the scene on Wednesday afternoon.
Detective Senior Constable Derek Verity said the cause of the fire which destroyed the three-bedroom conite home was not suspicious.
He said in appeared there had been a fault in the fuse box.
Wednesday, noon: A three-bedroom holiday home on the western outskirts of Camperdown has been destroyed in a fire overnight.
Detective Senior Constable Rob Wilson, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said there was very little left of the concrete rendered house.
"The cause of the fire is not believed to suspicious at this stage. A Country Fire Authority investigator will examine the fire scene this afternoon," he said.
Earlier: A home in Camperdown's Park Road has been completely destroyed in a fire overnight.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Raven, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said the alarm was raised at 2.24am this morning.
He said when firefighters arrived the home was fully engulfed in flames.
"The home was unoccupied. The owner lives in Geelong," he said.
"It's been completely destroyed. The cause of the fire is at this stage unknown but a fire investigator will examine the scene his morning."
Detective Sergeant Raven said the owner of the property had been at the property in recent days and been using a heater.
