Andrew Young, 30, of Glasgow Street, pleaded guilty to 13 charges in the Warrnambool Koori Court on Friday.
He has been in custody since he handed himself into police on March 1.
Lawyer Amanda Chambers said the offending occurred after her client started "hanging around with the wrong people" and relapsed into drug use.
She said Young acted as a look out for a co-defendant, who cannot be named.
Ms Chambers said her client received "absolutely nothing out of (the offending)".
"He says he didn't even get a packet of cigarettes from (the co-accused)," she said.
The court heard Young had been drug-free in custody and wanted to return home to be with his family.
The matter was adjourned so that Young could be assessed for a community corrections order. He will be sentenced on July 12.
On February 23, Young and the co-accused allegedly attended a property in Warrnambool's Fairfax Avenue and gained entry to a locked ammunition locker before stealing a shotgun belt with cartridges, containers of gun powder and several boxes of various ammunition.
Then at 10.50pm they attended a Ross Street property where a 13-year-old female victim was at home on their own.
The co-accused allegedly stole a wallet containing credit cards. He was disturbed by the offender and they left the property.
Police allege the pair then committed another burglary at a Banyan Street home. They gained entry to the garage and stole a racing bike worth $10,000, a circular saw and a mountain bike worth $5000.
At a second Banyan Street property they entered through an unlocked sliding door and stole two mobile phones, an iPad, cigarettes and a BMX bicycle.
They smashed a rear window of a locked Toyota Prado before riding away on the stolen bikes.
The pair then went to a milk bar approximately 500 metres away and forced open a door, causing an alarm to sound. They fled the premises.
On February 24 Young's partner found the wallet stolen at the Ross Street property and took it to Warrnambool police.
Young attended the police station by appointment on March 1 and was subsequently arrested.
The co-accused is in custody and will appear in court for a mention hearing on July 7.
