Numbers remained consistent with last week.

The quality improved across the trade categories, with half the yarding made up of the regular mixed quality cows.

An extra export processor joined the regular field of buyers again, resulting in some very strong competition that continues to push prices up. Domestic processors liked what they saw in the trade categories and were prepared to go that extra mile to fill their orders.

Trade cattle suiting domestic processors were dominated by heifers again, with a quality pen of Charolais reaching 309c weighing 476kg, the bulk making from 260c to 309c, resulting in a price lift of 19c/kg from last week.

Steers were making from 263c to 316c/kg.

Feeder prices eased from last week due to less competition, with the good C muscled yearlings making from 230c to 260c/kg.

Grown steers and bullocks were in better supply today, with the majority offered going to processors.

Finished grown steers lifted 2c, receiving from 295c to 315c, with C4 bullocks increasing 22c due to better quality, making from 282c to 298c/kg. Few feeder types offered reached 255c/kg.

Processors stepped into the heavy manufacturing types creating a significant lift, with bullocks reaching 278c and the dairy portion making up to 268c/kg.

Cows were well supplied selling in a stronger market, with the very heavy 3 and 4 score beef cows making from 220c to 252c/kg.

The best of the dairy portion reached 212c and the D1 cows sold from 160c to 195c to be firm to 8c/kg better.

The regular buying group were present in the bull run, with the well-muscled beef portion receiving from 230c to 245c and the best of the dairy portion making 215c/kg.
