The eight-placed Demons play top-six sides Allansford and Old Collegians.
"We'll be targeting the next couple as winnable games," Hickey said.
The young Demons staged a stunning comeback on Saturday against Russells Creek to claim a 8.7 (55) to 7.5 (47) win at Timboon Recreation Reserve.
Meanwhile, the injury-hit Cats and Warriors have been shaky of late. The Cats only just beat 10th-placed East Warrnambool on Saturday.
MORE FOOTBALL:
The Warriors have endured a tough fortnight, losing to South Rovers and Kolora-Noorat.
Incredibly, Timboon Demons was one team that escaped injury on Saturday.
The Hickey-led side didn't score in the first quarter but found its groove in the second to make it a one-point match at the main break.
The Demons came out on top after a wet and heavy slog in the second half.
Hickey was most impressed by his youngsters.
"The guys really responded to the conditions and had to work hard for the contested ball," he said.
"The young guys led the way."
Hickey said Lachlan Rosolin, Max Bond and Oliver Stansfield, All three playing on the wings, were among the young brigade that delivered.
The more experienced Lyndon Alsop and Leigh Mckenzie provided great support and were the Demons' best players.
Hickey said Alsop was good onball while Mckenzie "chopped off a lot of play" across half-back.
So what do the Demons need to do to knock off the more fancied Cats and Warriors?
Hickey said his team would be focused on getting off to good starts.
"We can't afford to give up goals early," he said.
In round nine, finals-contender Merrivale outscored the Demons 40 points to one in the first quarter.
