The world number 23 fired an even 70 in the second round to move two placings up the standings at equal 34th after 54 holes at the TPC River Highlands Golf Club in Connecticut.
Leishman, 35, hit 9 of 18 greens in regulation during his third round of play which included two birdies and two bogeys.
His previous two rounds included a four-under 66 on Friday morning (AEST) and an even 70 on Saturday.
Reavie, who shot a seven-under 63, is six clear of countrymen Keegan Bradley (69) and Zack Sucher (71) on top of the leaderboard after three strong rounds of golf.
Australian former number one Jason Day is in reach of victory in a tie for fourth at nine under with Mexico's Roberto Daz.
