Moor Wanted was unplaced in the Golden Topaz at Swan Hill and runs in a restricted race down the famous Flemington straight on Saturday.
Chow said the lightly raced four-year-old would appreciate a drop back in class from an open handicap to a restricted race.
"Nothing worked out for us at Swan Hill," he said.
"Moor Wanted seemed to struggle with the rise in grade at Swan Hill. I think the wide barrier never helped and he got back further then I would have liked but that's all behind us. He's got a good record at Flemington. I'm going to the races quietly confident he'll run well. We've got apprentice jockey Jack Martin in the saddle. His claim brings us right into the race."
Moor Wanted is a $18 chance in the early betting markets.
Fellow Warrnambool trainers Matthew Williams, Jarrod McLean, Mark O'Donnell, Symon Wilde and Daniel Bowman have runners on the nine race Flemington program.
Ciaron Maher, who trains in partnership with David Eustace has numerous runners including Pacodali, Last Week, Azuro and Bam's On Fire.
Meanwhile, Aaron Purcell saddles up the last start Sandown jumps winner Double Bluff in the South Australian Grand National Hurdle at Morphettville.
Warrnambool based jumps jockey Shane Jackson has the ride on Double Bluff in the jumps feature.
