Harry Monk will run out onto Friendly Societies' Park with proud dad Matthew on the sidelines in his role as a Roosters assistant coach.

Monk will replace Manny Sandow, who is on holiday, in the ruck against fellow Hampden league flag hopeful Port Fairy.

South Warrnambool coach Mat Battistello said it would be a special moment for the Monk family.

"It is pretty exciting for the club, Harry and the Monk family considering the power of work they do," he said.

"He is studying in Melbourne and we always knew for a six or seven-week period he'd be back at this particular time.

"Harry did all of pre-season with us, so we haven't pulled that one from left-field, it had always been a plan."

The Roosters made four changes with Sandow, Paddy Anderson (hamstring tightness), Fraser Marris and Flynn Atchison (NAB League) going out.

Isaac Thomas returns and Peter Doukas and Hugh Clancey were picked for their first senior games of the season.

"Hugh didn't play all of last year and he's just come back the last three weeks," Battistello said.

"He was down in Melbourne and decided he wanted to come back to the club which is great."

Battistello said the Roosters were determined to get some continuity in their side.

"Four changes is the best we've had all year," he said.

"We've had a minimum of five changes every single week which has been crazy.

"Probably what a lot of people don't realise, when you have seven Rebels kids fluctuating in and out of that program and coming back to us, from the under 18s all the way through it does become a bit of a logistical nightmare."

South Warrnambool defeated Port Fairy on its home deck in round one.

The Seagulls, which sit fifth, are yet to beat a side above them on the ladder.

But Battistello, whose Roosters are occupying fourth spot, knows Port Fairy is capable.

"We are self-aware, we walked away round one knowing we probably got them when they were underdone and they will probably acknowledge that too," he said.

"It is certainly a good test for us, the last two weeks (losing by seven points each round) has been extremely disappointing against the top-two sides given we've had plenty of opportunities to win those games."
